Global crude steel output increased by 5.4% year-on-year in May 2019

In May 2019, the global crude steel output of 64 countries included in the World Steel Association statistics was 162.7 million tons, an increase of 5.4% year-on-year.

 

China's crude steel output in May 2019 was 89.1 million tons, up 10.0% year-on-year. India's crude steel output in May was 9.2 million tons, up 5.1% year-on-year. Japan's crude steel output in May was 8.7 million tons, down 4.6% year-on-year. South Korea's crude steel output in May was 6.4 million tons, up 2.2% year-on-year.

 

In the EU region, Italy's crude steel output in May 2019 was 2.2 million tons, up 1.1% year-on-year; France's crude steel output in May was 1.2 million tons, down 7.6% year-on-year; Spain's crude steel output in May was 1.3 million tons, down from the same period last year. 7.1%.

 

US crude steel production in May 2019 was 7.7 million tons, up 5.4% year-on-year.

 

Ukrainian crude steel production in May 2019 was 1.8 million tons, up 7.8% year-on-year.

 

Brazil's crude steel output in May 2019 was 2.8 million tons, up 2.9% year-on-year.

 

Turkey's crude steel output in May 2019 was 3.1 million tons, down 8.0% year-on-year.
