ASTM A333 Standard Specification for Seamless and Welded Steel Pipe for Low Temperature Service
1.Outer Dimensions: 19.05mm-457mm
3.Lengths: Lengths required shall be specified on order.If no definite lengths required, following practice applies:
Single Random — 17′ ~ 24′ lengths
Double Random — 36′ ~ 44′ lengths
Heat Treatment Requirements:
All seamless and welded pipe shall be treated to control their microstructure by the following methods:
1.Normalizing per ASTM A333 Standard Specification for Seamless and Welded Steel Pipe for Low Temperature Service section 126.96.36.199; section 188.8.131.52 or section 184.108.40.206
2.Quenched and Tempered per A 333/A 333M – 05 section 220.127.116.11
3.Double Normalized and Tempered per A 333/A 333M – 05 section 18.104.22.168
Inspection and Test:
Chemical Composition Inspection, Mechanical Properties Test(Tensile Strength,Yield Strength, Elongation, Flaring, Flattening, Bending, Hardness, Impact Test), Surface and Dimension Test,No-destructive Test, Hydrostatic Test.
1.For material heat treated in a batch-type furnace, tests shall be made on 5% of the pipe from each treated lot.
2.For small lots, at least one pipe shall be tested.
3.For material heat treated by the continuous process, tests shall be made on a sufficient number of pipe to constitute 5% of the lot, but in no case less than 2 pipe.
5. Impact Test One notched bar impact test, consisting of breaking three specimens shall be made from each heat represtented in a heat-treatment load on specimens taken from the finished pipe.
